Our founder Gregory (Greg) D. Long is a Georgia native, born and reared in the Atlanta area. He's been a resident of central Georgia for the past 30 years and currently lives in Laurens County.
Greg earned his associate's degree in science at Young Harris College in 1980. He then transferred to the University of Georgia's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources where he graduated in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in timber management.
Greg's first experience in forestry was in 1978, when he served as a volunteer firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service while still attending Young Harris College. After graduating from UGA, he worked as a research technician in the field of site preparation herbicides.
From 1985 to 1992, Greg worked for the Georgia Forestry Commission as a management forester. In 1992, he went into private practice in the Dublin area of Laurens County. Greg is an experienced professional and is accomplished in the use of current technology.
Love of the Earth and preservation of her resources has been his life's passion. Greg is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing in his free time.
